EURO-MP AGAIN FIGHTS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL12.00.00pm GMT Fri 17th Mar 2006
Liberal Democrat Euro MP Liz Lynne made a second visit to Wall Heath in the Black Country last week to get an update on the campaign to "Save Maidensbridge Primary School" in the village. The latest and 3rd plan put forward by the controlling Conservative group on Dudley Council is to close the school and move a nearby Church school onto the Maidensbridge site; creating a school twice the size. Campaigner Lynn Boleyn, local Councillors and Council candidate (pictured above) have received wide support for their campaign and the whole village appears to be rallying behind the move to get the plan thrown out. Liz said: "I have been to Maidensbridge and seen the excellent facilities and teaching they provide. Their recent Ofsted report shows that the school offers good value for money and is a credit to everyone at the school. It was pleasing to note that the children were also praised for their 'Outstanding Behaviour' in the report and we must all work hard to keep the school open in its present form." ENDS.
