Euro-MP impressed by visit to Home of Rural Excellence

West Midlands Euro-MP Liz Lynne, today offered her full support for the Royal Agricultural Society of England's (RASE) development of Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, as Home of Rural Excellence, after a recent visit to the site.

Stoneleigh Park, a central hub for the transfer of knowledge and communication of information and initiatives, aims to provide a focal point and resource for the rural economy across the West Midlands region.

Once completed it is intended that Stoneleigh Park will act as an independent voice for the agriculture sector, through promoting best practice as well as encouraging innovation and scientific advance.

Showing Liz Lynne around during her visit was Professor John Moverley, CEO of RASE, who detailed the four zones under development including a business campus, exhibition centre, visitor zone and a National Equine Centre.

Liz Lynne said:

"I was extremely impressed with RASE's development of Stoneleigh Park. Its vitally important that we support our rural economy and this is exactly the sort of project that will help this sector grow in the West Midlands."

Professor John Moverley added:

"We have ambitious plans for the Royal Agricultural Society of England and its base at Stoneleigh Park. The planned development of the site will create a hub for all things rural and agricultural, from which we can help shape a sustainable future for the industry. To make this happen we need the full support of everyone involved in the sector and we are grateful for the opportunity to highlight our plans and to Liz Lynne and for her support."
