FUNDRAISING EVENT A GREAT SUCCESS FOR LOCAL CHARITY2.41.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 28th Aug 2007 Saturday afternoon saw the summer fete of the charity Worcestershire Lifestyles take place in Vines Park, Droitwich. The charity holds regular fundraising events, to help fund its computer recycling workshop in Worcester, which provides work and training for local disabled people. The event was a great success, helped by the good weather and a great turnout, with some 500 people and 20 volunteers in attendance. Speaking after the event, Liz Lynne, Member of the European Parliament for Worcestershire and Patron of the charity, said: "The response from local people and the families and friends of those involved with Worcestershire Lifestyles has been hugely encouraging." "In an increasingly tight time for funding for charitable entrepreneurial organisations, events such as these are vital to enable them to continue their good work for society and environment. It is of course a great day out too!" Dawn Inett of Worcestershire Lifestyles, who organised the fete, added: "I would like to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to help make this event such a success. The £950 we raised will be carefully used to help people with disability across the County of Worcestershire. The weather was very kind and our distinguished guests, Richard Morris, the Mayor of Droitwich, and Liz, were a great help on the day. Many thanks to all involved." ENDS
